My Dear Winnie,
Thank you for the lovely color page you made for me. It was beautiful and I am so proud of it! Lila put it in my binder where she keeps all my special papers and important dates. I will cherish it forever!

The arrival of a common night hawk always excites everyone at Wild Bird Rescue. It is a fun bird to hand feed with it enormous, frog-like mouth gaping for a soaked mealworm or two. The common night hawk pursues insects both at dawn and dusk in rural and urban areas. These birds are a common sight around street and stadium lights at night where large groups of insects gather. Its erratic flight makes it often look like a big bat which has earned it the nickname “bullbat.”

Aaaahhhhh...just got sprayed down with some cool, clear, water! Water...water....cool, clear, water. Hey...wait a minute, I think those are the lyrics to an old Marty Robbins' song. You can't blame a bird for breakin' into a good ol' country song every now and then.
